Soon after my arrival at St Anthony's, Dr Kidd turned up in my room and talked me through the operation process, what would happen, and what I was likely to feel at each stage. Dr Kidd's approach, experience and communication gave me 100% trust in him and helped to calm any pre-op nerves. I have to commend him for great work and follow up on the days after the op to ensure my progress was as expected, even coming in on his days off. What fantastic commitment to patient care !

I was greeted by Dr Alexander Kidd soon after my arrival and immediately put at my ease with his explanations of the THR procedure and what to expect during recovery. I managed to surprise everyone with a feinting spell on my first outing later that day but he and all the rest of the staff were rapidly "hands on" and had me back in bed and comfy in no time. He went out of his way to re-assure me after this slight set back and made three further visits and we chatted most amiably during my short stay at St Anthony's.

When I met Mr Kidd he had a very reassuring attitude. He explained in depth what was going to happen and how I would feel once I was back in recovery. He has a wonderful sense of humour which put you at ease, he visited me every day to make sure my pain levels were tolerable I would recommend him to anybody undergoing an operation.

A personable and enthusiastic anaesthetist who wishes to provide the best care for his patients. He listens to the needs and concerns of his patient and applies the appropriate technique. He has worked with the surgeon who operated on my knee revision to develop new ways of dealing with post op recovery - absolutely brilliant. Having had both hip and knee replacements before I appreciated how little discomfort and pain I had post operatively. As Alexander has also had knee surgery he has been on the receiving end and can empathise with what is required. An anaesthetist to be recommended.
